Welcome to the third episode, or part, of A History of Canon Lightsabers. Here, I will list four lightsabers and include a brief history of each one, as well as my thoughts about them.
Going over the previous three episodes, the one that was the most well-received was the first episode, featuring four lightsabers. Although it was briefer than the next two episodes after it and maybe it was favored due to being an entry in the first Essay of the Week Contest, people seemed to enjoy that style and I'm going to try it, again, for this one.
A blue crossguard lightsaber, we don't yet know a lot about this one, but I wanted to share it with others, as it is definitely an interesting design and is sure to excite people about Star Wars: The High Republic.
Carried by Jedi Master Stellan Gios, the crossguard on this lightsaber was collapsible. Trained by Rana Kant, Gios would also have an apprentice, Vernestra Rwoh.

Thoughts
I'm looking forward to seeing more about this lightsaber and how it was used. Its design reminds me of Ben Solo's lightsaber during his time as Kylo Ren, as well as Obi-Wan Kenobi's first and second lightsabers.
It's interesting to see the crossguard lightsaber receive a design that is unique, but also references back to lightsabers previously seen in the franchise.
Anakin Skywalker's first lightsaber
Created by 29 BBY on Ilum, this blue single-blade lightsaber was carried by Anakin Skywalker until its destruction in 22 BBY on Geonosis. With hilt material of alloy metal and carbon composites, Anakin was once reminded by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi that it was his life.
Anakin used this weapon to protect Padmé Amidala and to later avenge the death of his mother, Shmi Skywalker Lars. Its destruction occurred during a fight at the battle droid foundries on Geonosis, where Anakin was soon captured, alongside Padmé, by Jango Fett.
Anakin would go on to create a new lightsaber, that would be quite well known and used by many famous individuals.

Thoughts
This is an interesting lightsaber. With a design clearly similar to Anakin Skywalker's most famous lightsaber, this one is a nice beginning to that design. I was surprised that it was destroyed within one film, but it did make way for the one that would be passed down through generations.
Luke Skywalker's yellow lightsaber
Here's one that some may not know about, yet. After losing his father's lightsaber on Cloud City, Luke Skywalker used this single-blade yellow Jedi Temple Guard lightsaber before he created his green single-blade lightsaber.
Luke found the lightsaber in a Jedi outpost on Tempes The Grand Inquisitor's spirit even engaged him in a duel in the outpost, in which he carried this lightsaber. He would later ignite it to inspire the Alliance to Restore the Republic and give them a renewed sense of hope.

It's interesting to see Luke wielding lightsabers of three different colors. Blue, yellow and green. I wonder what will become of this one, but it is interesting to see its story thus far.
Ben Solo/Kylo Ren's lightsaber
Some may not know that this is the same lightsaber. Held by Ben Solo before his turn to the dark side, it was originally a standard-hilt blue lightsaber that would become a fiery red-yellow crossguard lightsaber after his fall.
Ben would carry it alongside Jedi Master Luke Skywalker during their adventures together and would use it to defend himself after Luke considering striking him down to prevent his fall.
He carried it through the destruction of Luke's academy and would wield it against those he has once trained alongside after the apparent death of Luke. He would eventually carry it in a holster on his back, while also carrying a blaster at his side, similar to his father, Han Solo.
While defending himself, he used it to deflect a lightsaber thrown at him, which killed Hennix. He would later carry it through encounters that saw the deaths of Ren and Voe.
After its change into a crossguard blade, Ben, as Kylo Ren, would use it to duel a vision of Luke in the Cave of Evil, but he could not bring himself to strike down visions of Han Solo or Leia Skywalker Organa Solo, his parents.
In 34 ABY, Ren would use this lightsaber to strike down Lor San Tekka and capture Rey. Later, in an attempt to bring Kylo back to the light, he used this lightsaber to kill Han Solo, an event which broke his spirit.
He soon used the weapon in a duel against Rey, facing off with multiple injuries and an unbalanced mind after his father's death.
Rey managed to overcome Ren, leaving him with a scar on his face and neck. The two would later encounter each other, with Ren betraying and killing Snoke, using this lightsaber to fight alongside Rey and defeat Snoke's guards.
During the Battle of Crait, Ren used this lightsaber in a final encounter with Luke Skywalker, who would destract Ren and give the Resistance time to escape.
He would last use this lightsaber in 35 ABY, engaging Rey in a duel. Right before making a killing blow on Rey, the death of his mother, Leia, would distract him, leading him to drop his lightsaber and become impaled Rey, who had caught it.
Rey would then heal Ren, who soon encountered a vision of Han Solo. With the sacrifices of those he loved, he turned back to the light side and once again became Ben Solo, throwing his lightsaber into the waters ahead of him.
He would later return the same sacrifice, giving his life for Rey during the Battle of Exegol.

Thoughts
This lightsaber sure had a lengthy history. Full of heartbreak and uplifting events, I'm sure that more stories will show its journey. The design is interesting in both versions and I feel like it'll inspire many more lightsabers in the future of this franchise.
Closing Thoughts
This episode, I leaned more towards the Skywalker family, for the most part, but I wanted to share a peek at one of the newest lightsabers of the Star Wars universe with the lightsaber of Stellan Gios.
