Announcing the Star Wars Discussions Essay of th Week Contest!
About the contest:
“Essay of the Week”, has the purpose is to encourage the production of Theory/Analysis’ posts, stimulating deep insights and fomenting good and edifying discussions about SW topics, such as politics, science, philosophy, war, religions, anthropology, sociology, etcetera…topics that are told and retold in many different ways throughout the franchise and are worthy of a deeper study. Each user has the right to be heard out, sharing its aesthetic experience with the work and presenting its own hermeneutics on a specific topic, no matter how relevant or irrelevant it is, from an obscure and underrated character to a mega event covered in one of the movies.
Consequently, any further questions about the contest and its origin must be made in the behind-the-scenes’ thread linked above, which is singularly dedicated to this purpose. Inquiries, suggestions, critics, interactions with other users - all and any kind of off-topic parallel conversations must be taken exclusively to the BTS’s thread. It is strongly imperative to avoid at all costs, any reply that is not a nomination in the entry thread, which is sacredly reserved to the submitted essays. Any user who makes a random comment in the entry thread that is not the link to a submitted dissertation shall have their reply delated and their nomination disqualified (also deleted), not being able to nominate anything else until the next round. Below are the rules better exemplified.
The rules are simple:
Create an essay on the main feed and link it in the comments of this post. You can create and enter as many essays as you want, just make sure to link them in separate replies.
Only enter your own posts. That means don’t link a thread here if it isn’t yours.
Don’t talk about the entries in this thread. Let’s not have the same discussion in two different places. All comments shall be deleated.
Vote for your favorite posts by upvoting them here in this thread. The essays with most upvotes for the week win, and will be featured in a Weekly Winners post.
This thread is for entries only. Please direct any questions, comments, or suggestions to the behind-the-scenes' thread linked above.
Locked posts won’t be recognized. If your nominated essay gets locked, for whatever reasons, it will be disqualified and later deleted. Regardless it is the only post submitted.
All other Community Guidelines apply.
The contest period is Tuesday through Monday weekly. Winners will be announced in a separate post on Tuesdays and mentioned in the Monday Morning Coffee news roundup on Mondays. Bookmark this post or link it in your bio for quick access! This is the only time it will be posted on the feed and it will be used for each week’s round.
Good luck, and may the Force of others be with you!
