Anyone remember what happened two years ago today? I doubt it. Most people celebrate the anniversaries of the films’ release dates, but I celebrate today instead.
Two years ago, I was at a summer camp, sitting in a classroom with my laptop. I had nothing to do and decided to check for news from Comic-Con, which was still ongoing. On a side note, they released their schedule for this year.
I saw a video titled “The Clone Wars trailer” and thought nothing of it—probably something to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the show—until I saw the caption.
“A war left unfinished…until now.”
I put two and two together. I freaked out. I texted my best friend, caps lock button on. A final season was announced.
I can’t express in words how beautiful and amazing the finale run was. I watched every episode with friends, chatted it up with the baseball team, and called people left and right to keep them up with each step of the way. Of course, I didn’t forget about how wild the forum was, but we handled it marvelously!
That’s what I want to come to today. As part of our continuance protocol, it’s essential to look back at where we’ve been and not forget it.
Let’s take a look at everything—every single second of the rave.
Front and center of the release was the fact that we asked for it. The fandom was responsible for season seven, and while we can’t let that get to our heads, we should recognize the power of positive reinforcement. Now we have The Bad Batch on its way. Maybe some Legends publishing down the road, please?
I’d like to know your thoughts on the final season and The Clone Wars as a whole, your favorite memories, and what you take away from it as an audience member moving forward. Be as extensive as possible, and dig deep and share any news articles and video reviews that were released at the time.
In the midst of my excitement then, I marked today's date on my calendar: we won the Clone War. Today above all else is the day we should celebrate. Let’s make this thread our time capsule to mark it.
