Welcome to a Mon Calamari Mondays special. I know it's Monday but there has been a change in plans. Today I am doing a collaboration with The Planet Cup for Mon Cala which will be up and voting tomorrow.
Announcement: Today @LH434 was supposed to post Mon Calamari Mondays #15 for me and I would post this post tomorrow. But due to time zones and not having a tone of time right now I have decided to post the Planet Cup special today and have Mon Calamari Mondays #15 posted on Wednesday. @Order 68 is still doing Mon Calamari Mondays #16 for the following Monday.

Where is Mon Cala?
Mon Cala is located in the Mon Calamari system, which is part of the Calamari sector, which is located in the Outer Rim Territories.
Why so many names?
A confusing aspect of this planet is its name. In legends the planet is called Dac. But Dac is just legends. I know the wiki says otherwise but I researched it and I can't confirm this. But Dac City is a canon city. Mon Cala is also used in legends.
What is the planet like?
Mon Cala has a very temperate climate, and is covered in ocean. Some crazy animals like eels, whales and giant squids live there.
Who ruled Mon Cala?
Although the native species to the planet; Quarren and Mon Calamari, they had a monarchy rule over. In canon we have seen the Mon Cala monarchy rule over with each ruler being a Mon Calamari. But the Quarren and Mon Calamari seemed to get along after the Clone Wars.
What did Mon Cala do for the Rebel Alliance?
When the Empire attacked Mon Cala, the Quarren and the Mon Calamari put up a good fight. In a desperate attempt to escape, Admiral Raddus led Mon Calamari captain ships out of the ocean and escaped, shortly after meeting up with the Rebels.
What happened to Mon Cala after the fall of the Empire?
Luke had a dream on Ahch-To where he hadn’t joined the Rebellion but instead got married, in this dream not just Alderaan but Chandrila and Mon Cala were also blown up by the death star.
After the battle of Crait General Leia led a few members of the Resistance to Mon Cala insearch of help. After being snitched on Aftab Ackbar helped Leia escape with a few ships before the First Order arrived to make an “example” of Mon Cala.

Moncaladrome
The Moncaladrome was an opera house on Mon Cala. General Leia went there to capture Moff Tan Hubi and locate King Lee-char.
Mourning Shrines
The Mourning Shrines were large statues that held many great Mon Calamari like Admiral Ackbar, you could go there and mourn the death of a loved one. That is what Leia and Aftab did in honor of Gial Ackbar.
