Nobody? Really? Two posts were made following the release of some action figures, but crickets for an entire show?
Well, since completely everyone missed it, the game show Jedi Temple Challenge dropped a trailer earlier today.
This is such a cool concept. Obviously I'd have reason to see this as a real-life show, but the more I think about it, it fits Canon perfectly, especially given all the choices Ahmed Best made and integrated into his character.
Sam Witwer is also slated to play a role, and knowing the level of commitment and lore he puts into his roles, I would treat this new story as Canon. It has a nice light tone, great set design just like a Jedi temple, and what already appears to be some themes perfect to Star Wars.
The Star Wars show also did an extended segment about the show, including some interviews with the cast and crew.
It's cool to see that the episodes will air on YouTube. This is probably to accommodate for changing times, the limited access to Disney+ (although I expect the service to air the show too), and the target audience.
The first episode airs on June 3rd, and I'll be linking discussions about the individual episodes in this thread. Follow along for those updates!
For now, what do you think of this show? I started out as cautiously optimistic, but now I'm really excited for something that has never been done before in Star Wars—and probably couldn't be done any better than it looks to be. I'm hyped!
