Now that we're heading towards the final arc of The Clone Wars, I want to look ahead and make a prediction about the next few episodes. We won't be discussing the episode that released today; go to the official thread for that.
The next episode is titled "Old Friends Not Forgotten," and there are minor spoilers about the basic outline of the episode.
"Anakin and Obi-Wan must decide whether to help Ahsoka pursue Maul or rescue Palpatine."
We don't really know where Obi-Wan and Anakin are at this point of the war. They're deployed in the Outer Rim Sieges and won't be expecting Ahsoka to show up, so this episode might contain the majority of a real battle.
There are shots in the season seven trailer of 501st clones on jetpacks fighting Separatist droids on a bridge.
We know that Cato Neimoidia's society is built on bridges, and judging by the clouds and green mountains in the background, that's enough proof to be it.
Moving to a later point the trailer, there's a beautiful shot of Obi-Wan wielding his lightsaber through the smoke of battle, and he's definitely in the same place. He's looking at something, and his face is of utter anguish.
I think Obi-Wan is sensing that Maul has returned again. I think that the emotional impact of the realization will make him lose focus, and Anakin will save him and get his head back into the fight, hence the later claim that it's the ninth time he has saved Obi-Wan.
Also, since Anakin and Obi-Wan must choose to either help Ahsoka or Palpatine, I will predict that it is Obi-Wan who will make the call as a Jedi to save Palpatine. That's why Anakin later makes the claim that "this whole operation was [Obi-Wan's] idea."
What do you think of my predictions? Hopefully they're correct, or maybe that business on Cato Neimoidia won't…won't count.
