That's a frankly ridiculous approach to take. As I said, I for one will continue to report such posts given their offtopic nature in line with point 3 of the Wookieepedia Discussions Policy (which bans such offtopic content) and direct users to the relevant FANDOM.

The opportunity to object to this was 2 months ago. The fact that there was 1 thread and now you want a policy shows how fundamentally broken the approach to policy-making and moderation can be here.

I did object two months ago. If you don't recall, you shut down myself and everybody else in the Wook Leaders channel on Discord.

The approach to policy-making and moderation is fundamentally broken if one person can tread over the mandates which they wrote if it suits them - this is the second time. I'm not asking for a new policy, I'm asking you to enforce the policy which already exists.

You're right, there's nothing to gain from this conversation if you're not going to listen to the users. The conversation is over.

"There will be cases when a conversation could be appropriate on more than one Discussions community. For example, there was an effort in December to try to keep the bulk of Star Wars Battlefront II conversations on the Battlefront Discussions community. It’s great to work together with other communities, but that content should also be allowed on Star Wars Discussions. Instead of deleting, locking, or disallowing content that crosses over with another community, allow it to happen here but also let the person know that they’re welcome to post on the other Discussions community as well. They may just take you up on that!"

You are welcome to let them know about the other community, but it won't be deleted, locked, etc.

"3. Off-topic conversations or posts that ask for likes or comments are not permitted."

I'm not a mod, I don't have the power to lock or alter threads. However, as stated, I AM going to continue my current course of action in relation to offtopic threads.

"Off-topic" means non-Star Wars. If you read the document outlining what the mandates mean, then that was made abundantly clear when the mandates were discussed. I'm not going to entertain another interpretation, so this is the end of the conversation.

That was not made 'abundantly clear' when the mandates were discussed at all, Brandon. It was made clear that memes and fan art would be allowed and that Discussions is not only for in-depth conversations. What a typical soundbox mentality - I find it amazing that you slam this community for having had it's rules 'developed by one person' when you're more than willing to do exactly the same thing.

But okay, discussion over.

Don't worry, I'm not planning on leaving, though I'm not gonna be around much for the rest of the month. It's more just what the state of the forum will be then.
