Las Vegas is a city in Western United States and is most well known for its vibrant casinos. The city also contains many chapels that allow for couples to get married quickly, and is referenced several times in The Big Bang Theory.

In "The Vegas Renormalization", Leonard and Raj take Howard to Las Vegas for the weekend after Howard's breakup with Leslie Winkle. While there, the friends hang out at a bar and meet several women.
In "The Stag Convergence", the guys go to Las Vegas for Howard's bachelor party, though the trip later jeopardizes the upcoming wedding after drunken speeches revealed Howard's checkered past.
In "The Countdown Reflection", while Howard and Bernadette are waiting in line in City Hall to get married, they get more anxious as closing time approaches, worried that Howard would not be able to get married before going off to space. Howard then suggested that he and Bernadette get married in Vegas instead. This did not happen and they eventually get married on the roof of The Apartment Building.

In "The Thanksgiving Decoupling", Penny revealed that she and Zack went through a "silly fake wedding" in a chapel while in Vegas, which her friends inform her that they are, in fact, legally binding. As a result, she and Zack had to meet during Thanksgiving dinner to sign annulment papers.
In "The Focus Attenuation", the girls go to Las Vegas for partying, though Penny ends up spending most of her time studying for her work in the hotel room.
